Associate Director of Marketing & Community Partnerships | Sarasota, FL

OBJECTIVE: 

To obtain corporate support for WEDU via program and non-program-related underwriting and sponsorships. 

REPORTS TO:  

Vice President of Marketing and Community Partnerships

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Obtain new corporate support throughout the 16 counties we serve but with a focus on Sarasota but not exclusively.  The ideal person needs to be efficient and effective per individually established sales and activity goals.
  2. The job is largely in-person visits, zooms and cold calls for new WEDU business. Advertising agencies and other entities are also opportunities for new partnerships.
  3. Coordinate individual on-air, on-line, print, events, production and streaming for assigned accounts.
  4. Prepare reports, contracts and meet specific contract processing guidelines in a timely manner.
  5. Participate in business-related community organizations; establish and maintain positive community relations for WEDU.
  6. Maintain excellent internal and external communications; adhere to safety and security policies of the station.
  7. Perform any other incidental duties & assist with planning off-air events as assigned.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of media market or related sales experience in the market
  • Success selling digital assets and sponsorships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Public speaking experience a plus
  • Strong problem solving, creativity and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic experience with computer software (M.S. Office Suite)
  • Basic knowledge of CRM Systems
