Security Officer | Tampa, FL
OBJECTIVE:
WEDU PBS is looking for a dynamic individual to effectively monitor the operations and activities in and around the facility, to ensure the safety and security of staff, guests and property.
REPORTS TO:
WEDU Chief Operations Officer
JOB TYPE:
Full-Time (40 hours per week)
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Monitor the operations and activities in and around WEDU’s facility according to patrol schedule. Conduct periodic checks depending upon conditions in the building, i.e. special event, taping, studio rentals, etc.
- Monitor the parking lot and walk staff to vehicles.
- Keep building secured during the day.
- Secure building when leaving and set the alarm if not relieved by another Security Officer.
- Assist with the checking in and out of visitors and staff using appropriate logs. Escort individuals as necessary.
- Direct the flow of traffic during peak periods.
- Maintain excellent internal and external communications, both verbally and in writing.
- Arrive at work station, ready for work, at the specified time.
- Maintain compliance with WEDU’s safety, security, drug free and confidentiality programs to ensure a safe working environment and protect the company’s intellectual property.
- Perform any other duties of an incidental nature as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be In possession of an approved Florida Unarmed Class "D" license from the DOACS.
- Have a Valid Driver's license and clean driving history.
- Minimum one (1) years’ work experience in security or supervisory-related positions.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends.
- Possess reliable, personally owned transportation
- Basic Computer Skills with an emphasis on emailing, web browsing, MS Word, and Adobe PDF.
