March is Women's History Month, and we want to commemorate and acknowledge the many achievements of women in our nation. The successes and innovations brought forth by women in our society have revolutionized and advanced our country in astronomical ways.

Great Performances At The Met: The Hours
Renée Fleming makes her return to the Met in this new opera by from Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Kevin Puts, adapted from Michael Cunningham’s novel, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s “Mrs. Dalloway.” Also inspired by the 2002 Oscar-winning film, the opera follows three women from different eras who each grapple with inner demons and their roles in society. The opera also stars Tony winner Kelli O’Hara and opera star Joyce DiDonato. Phelim McDermott directs with Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting. Christine Baranski hosts.

Long Description: For centuries in China, the once-secret written language of Nüshu was calligraphed on folded fans and handkerchiefs as hidden letters so women could share stories and express solidarity in a repressive era when many women were denied literacy. Confronting patriarchy, two modern women find solace in Nüshu, rediscovering connections between traditional Chinese womanhood and contemporary feminism.

Ruth Stone’s Vast Library of the Female Mind | LEARN MORE
Ruth Stone was a promising young poet when her husband suddenly committed suicide. Destitute, with three daughters to support, she traveled the country teaching, but always returned to her farmhouse in Vermont. Using animation by granddaughter Bianca Stone, archival footage, and candid interviews with Ruth, her family, and other poets, the film is an intimate portrait of a great American poet.

Awakening in Taos the Mabel Dodge Luhan Story | PREVIEW
Mabel Dodge Luhan was a trailblazing feminist 100 years ahead of her time. She was a champion for Women and Native American rights. In 1917 she moved from Greenwich Village to Taos, New Mexico. There she married Tony Lujan, a Tiwa Indian from Taos Pueblo.
