Changes for Florida This Week

After nearly 24 years of hosting Florida This Week, Rob Lorei is stepping into a new chapter.

Reflecting on his time hosting the program, Lorei shared, “I’ve had the good fortune of hosting every week. We’ve brought together a group of panelists like no other, featuring some of the smartest people from around the state and country, all coming together for civil conversations on the issues that matter most.”

Throughout his tenure, Lorei welcomed elected officials, reporters, columnists, scholars, consultants, authors, and community activists, all contributing to meaningful discussions on important topics.

Paul Grove, WEDU’s President and CEO, praised Lorei’s contributions: “Rob has been an incredible pillar at WEDU, bringing unmatched dedication, insight, and leadership. His work has shaped Florida This Week and enriched the lives of our viewers. We are deeply grateful for all he has accomplished and wish him the best in his new journey with Perspectives.”

Lorei will continue hosting a program on WEDU, a new interview series called Perspectives. The show will feature thoughtful conversations with notable guests, exploring personal stories, experiences, and worldviews.

As Lorei transitions to this new role, WEDU is excited to announce Lissette Campos as the new host of Florida This Week, starting March 21. Campos, an eight-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, brings over 30 years of media experience to the role. Known for her work as a reporter and anchor for CBS in Miami and ABC in Tampa Bay, she has earned national recognition for her involvement in the Taking Action Against Domestic Violence campaign. Additionally, Campos has produced award-winning stories from Cuba, Russia, and Guantanamo Bay. She most recently served as Senior Director of Strategic Branding, Marketing and Communications for the Tampa Bay Chamber.

Florida This Week will continue to air at its regular time on WEDU: Fridays at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 p.m. WEDU looks forward to this new chapter with both Campos and Lorei, and to the continued success of Florida This Week!
