Summer is here, and there is no better time to get outside and explore Florida's beautiful scenery!

WEDU PBS is introducing a new way to encourage you to get outside, stay active, and experience nature. Our new explore guide features fun and unique destinations perfect for filling up your summer day, weekends, or the ideal after-work activity.

During June 24-July 29, visit one of the locations below, take a photo during your visit, and fill out this form to receive some WEDU summer swag. Tag us on social media to show off your summer adventures. 

If Eureka Springs or Myakka River State Park are at the top of your summer bucket list, you're in luck! Florida Public Libraries are offering a Real Florida Reader Day Pass, which will give you free admission to one of Florida's 127 state parks. 

 Grab your water bottle and have fun exploring!

Hillsborough County
Eureka Springs
Founded in 1938 as a botanical garden, Eureka Springs is now a quarter-mile loop trail that shows off a collection of ferns, red maples, cypress, and black gum. The park features a beautiful boardwalk with a rose garden and an orchid room. Park entry is $2 per vehicle. Located at 6400 Eureka Springs Rd, Tampa, FL 33610


Pasco County
Starkey Wilderness Park
Whether you are looking for a fun hike with kids, a camping trip, or paths for cycling, Starkey Wilderness Park has it all. Starkey Trail spans a total of 7.5 miles connecting to many other smaller trails for birding, biking, or hiking. This park is free to enter. Located at 10500 Wilderness Park Blvd, New Port Richey, FL 34655


Sarasota County
Myakka River State Park
Flowing through one of Florida’s oldest and largest parks, the Myakka River is Florida’s first state-designated wild and scenic river. Experience the beautiful scenery through wildlife tours, walking along the canopy walkway, paddling, biking, birding, or camping. Park entry is $6 per vehicle. Located at 13208 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241


Pinellas County
Florida Botanical Gardens
The beautiful Florida Botanical Gardens spans over 100-acres of formal gardens, scenic landscapes, and native habitats. The garden allows you to relax, learn, and stroll through the refreshing scenery. Florida Botanical Gardens is free to enter. Located at 12520 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33774
