WEDU PBS Announces Staff Promotions, Jack Conely New Senior Vice President of Operations

Paul Grove, WEDU PBS President and CEO, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Conely as Senior Vice President of Operations. For more than 24 years, Conely has served in the production department at WEDU, most recently as the Vice President of Content.

The WEDU Senior Vice President of Operations is responsible for supervising the production, programming, education, engineering and communications departments. Other responsibilities will include assisting in the support of the station’s legislative communications, and representing on behalf of WEDU PBS with both local community outreach and national public broadcasting partner organizations. Joining WEDU PBS in 1995 as a Director/Producer, his early work at the station consisted of producing and directing numerous local programs including pledge drives, political debates and client productions. As his responsibilities increased over the years, Conely has served as Director of Production as well as Executive Producer for many of WEDU’s award-winning local productions including long-running program series, documentary productions, national PBS projects and membership fundraising programming. Conely earned his Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications/Broadcasting from the University of Florida. Early in his career, he worked at WUFT TV/FM, Gainesville, FL and WMFE TV/FM, Orlando, FL in addition to his tenure at WEDU PBS.

Paul Grove also announced the promotions of Kristine Kelly to Director of Content, Kyle Sorice to Manager of Brand and Digital Media, and Pam Webb to Production Manager. “These promotions reflect WEDU’s commitment to excellence and innovation as well as recognizing individuals for their leadership and contributions,” said Paul Grove. “WEDU’s entire team exemplifies passion for the work we do and serving our community.”

A self-proclaimed PBS nerd, Kristine Kelly joined WEDU in 2007. Kristine formerly served as Senior Producer/Content Manager. Kristine has earned numerous awards including five Suncoast Regional Emmy® Awards, most recently for her work on original WEDU documentaries Veterans – The Telling Project and The Feminine Touch. As the new Director of Content, Kristine will serve as Executive Producer for all of WEDU’s productions and will research, identify and develop new and innovative opportunities that propel WEDU’s mission as a leader in storytelling and content production.

Kyle Sorice joined WEDU in 2018 and will serve as WEDU’s Manager of Brand and Digital Media. In this newly created position aimed at strengthening WEDU’s digital presence, Kyle will be responsible for developing brand strategy, overseeing web, social and streaming platforms, writing, and producing and editing compelling content and promotional materials for broadcast and digital media.

Pam Webb has been with WEDU since 1998 and most recently served as Production Coordinator. Pam’s new role as Production Manager expands on her previous duties to effectively lead WEDU’s production and operations teams in coordinating both internal and client productions. Pam will assist with developing and integrating new and innovative business opportunities for WEDU.
