Sustainable New Year’s Resolutions
The New Year’s here, so it’s the perfect time to start thinking about the goals you want to accomplish this year. They may be small, but they can spark big changes in your daily habits. Sustainability isn’t about perfection—just intention! Here are a few resolutions to help reduce waste, save money, and keep the planet healthy.
Switch to Reusables
Say goodbye to single-use items in 2025, like plastic bottles, coffee cups, and grocery bags. Swap them for reusables like an Owala or a Stanley and add stickers to make them match your personality! For groceries, tote or cloth bags can get the job done just as efficiently.
Buy Less, Choose Smart
You might find yourself buying new things throughout the year, but why not try thrifting, repairing, or swapping items with friends? This could include clothes, books, or even furniture. By doing this, you help reduce fast fashion and overconsumption, all while saving money!
Reduce Animal Products.
Plan at least one plant-based meal a week—it can really make a difference and help lower your carbon footprint. No need to go all in overnight; just start small, maybe with a Meatless Monday to kick things off.
Waste Less Food
Plan your meals ahead, find ways to store food (like freezing), and compost any scraps. Cutting down on food waste lowers emissions and saves resources. Plus, you’ll get more out of what you’ve already bought, which means saving money too!
Spend Less Time Online
We all spend way too much time online. Try cutting back on screen time—maybe set limits on your phone or find ways to spend more time outside. You'll feel more present and appreciate it more.
When making resolutions, don’t worry about perfection—focus on the positive changes you'll bring to your life and the planet. 2025 is the year to live more sustainably, even if it’s just one step at a time!
