Family & Community Learning

Family and Community Learning (FCL) workshops support science, literacy and whole-child development among children and families. FCLs feature in-person events, links to related video and digital media, and additional take-home materials to support ongoing family engagement.

WEDU hosts FCLs in partnership with community based organizations. Watch our schedule to learn about opportunities in your community.

Parent Workshops

WEDU PBS supports school readiness with parent workshops on a variety of academic and social emotional learning for children ages 2-8. Current workshop topics include: creating family traditions, grandparenting, supporting STEM learning at home, everyday literacy, healthy eating, emergency preparedness, and summer fun.

WEDU hosts workshops in person and online. Watch our schedule to find opportunities for parents.

Little Free Library

WEDU hosts a Little Free Library outside its studios in the University Area of Tampa, just across the Hillsborough River from downtown. Through programs such as Be My Neighbor Day, the station encourages donations of books for readers of all ages, with a special emphasis on books for young readers.
